SOME unidentified individuals have assaulted, sodomised, and killed by stabbing a mother and her daughter with a sharp object in Muungano Street, Mkonze Ward, Dodoma City.
Speaking to the media at the scene yesterday, some witnesses from the neighborhood, said that the mother, estimated to be 33 years old, and her child, estimated to be 11 years old, were found dead with injuries on some parts of their bodies inside the house where they lived in Mkonze, Dodoma City.
Lazaro Mbishe, Acting Head of Communications at Dodoma Regional Hospital, confirmed receiving the body of a woman and a critically injured child, who passed away while receiving treatment.
The mother, known as Mwavita Mwakibasi, and her daughter, Salma Silvesta, are said to have been subjected to this brutality on the night of Wednesday, September 6, 2024.
The eldest child of the deceased, whose name is withheld, said with great sorrow that they were awakened by their younger sibling who informed them that their mother was bleeding, which prompted them to call their grandmother for urgent help. Meanwhile, the deceased’s sister stated that she received news of the incident through their mother’s phone, who is in Mbeya City.
The chairman of the neighborhood condemned these brutal acts happening in Mkonze and urged the police to establish a station to provide quicker security services as the area is growing rapidly.
Incidents of brutality and killings by the so-called unidentified people have been on the rise in recent months, with the state’s rogue elements implicated and tarnishing the image of President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s four-year old regime.
