“The foundations of peace and tranquility have been attacked in our country, especially due to recent incidents of people being kidnapped, disappearing, and others being killed, carried out by unknown individuals. We do not believe that these groups of kidnappers are stronger than the government. We urge the government to conduct a swift investigation so that those responsible can be found and brought to justice.”
This was the statement made today in Dar es Salaam by the Vice President of the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC), His Grace Bishop Eusebius Nzigilwa, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Mpanda, during the conclusion of the 5th National Eucharistic Congress, under the theme, Brotherhood, Healing the World, You Are All Brothers.”
