TENS of hundreds of Bunda residents in Mara region yesterday braved heavy downpours to meet Tundu Lissu, the presidential candidate for the main opposition party, Chadema, in Tanzania. Chanting and dancing, the jubilant wananchi did not mind the heavy rains that were pouring down as they waited for the arrival of Lissu, the main challenger of Tanzania’s incumbent John Magufuli. Lissu has become a phenomenon, abruptly changing Tanzania’s political landscape since his return home in late August 2020 from abroad where he had been undergoing treatment from several bullets injuries sustained in an assassination attempt that he miraculously survived on 7th September 2017.
